June 27^th – Project Bud Burst, Saturday, 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM

Spring is the perfect time to join PERT’s Budburst Project! This citizen science program invites participants to observe and record seasonal changes in plants and wildlife, helping scientists better understand the impacts of climate change through the study of phenology—the timing of biological events such as flowering and migration. Participants will walk the same PERT trail over three months, recording observations using the Budburst app (available on Google Play and the Apple Store). The first 30 minutes of each session includes an overview of the project and app, followed by an hour in the field collecting data. A smartphone or tablet capable of using the app and taking photos is required. Dates: April 18, May 9, and June 27. We recommend attending all three sessions for the full experience, but participation in individual sessions is welcome. Participants will be added to PERT’s Budburst Team upon registration. Free, but pre-registration is required. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
