Managing Turf and Meadows for Insect Pollinators (2-Part Course)
Session 1: Thursday, April 20th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Session 2: Tuesday, April 25th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Both sessions will be hybrid presentations.
Once registered, you may either attend in-person at Bryn Athyn College or attend virtually through the Zoom link that will be emailed to you.
To attend in-person, please arrive by 6:55pm to:
Room 202, College Center Building
900 College Drive, Bryn Athyn College.
Parking is permitted in the lot just north of the College Center.
Over the past two years, Pennypack Trust science staff and Bryn Athyn College instructor Grace McMackin have refined field methodologies to better understand the insect pollinators present in local turf and meadow and their interactions with non-native and native plants. The resulting data provides valuable insight into what land management practices would best support a diverse population of pollinating insects. This is a two-part research seminar: part one will broadly introduce local bees and Grace McMackin’s bee population research. Part two will dive into the research methodologies and observational data collected on plant-pollinator interactions.
