But when talking about white-tailed deer, “rut” means something completely different: it refers to all behavior and activities associated with the breeding season. Learn how white-tailed deer rut and look for signs of mating activity such as primary scrapes and licked branches during a walk with Pennypack groundskeeper Kirk Laule and Stewardship Crew Chief, Ryan Staiber. This program is geared for adults and is limited to 10 participants. Free, but pre-registration is required.

Talk with Executive Director Chris Mendel, and Drew Nehlig about the Trust’s recent solar and geothermal energy upgrades. Discuss sustainable energy production, and the process of planning and construction for your home or business. If you’re thinking about either of these technologies, you won’t want to miss Chris’ photographs and experiences helping the trust through this transition. Drew Nehlig is the Facilities Manager for Glencairn Museum and has a decade’s-long relationship in historic preservation and adaptive re-use of historic structures around Bryn Athyn. This program will be held virtually on Zoom. This program is free, but you must register on our website to receive the Zoom information.
