The annual tradition began in 1900 as a social alternative to large-scale bird hunting, which conservationists feared would decimate US bird populations. It’s the nation’s longest-running community science bird project and you can help! Join us at the Pennypack Trust to participate in the annual Christmas Bird Count. Free.
