June 13^th – Beach Leaf Disease, Friday, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

In Summer 2024, beech leaf disease (BLD) was discovered in American Beech trees on the northern edge of the Pennypack Preserve. Pennypack Trust is hosting a research team from Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories, who are experimenting with different methods (silvicultural thinning and chemical injections) to slow the progress of beech leaf disease and preserve our most American beech-dominated forest tract. Come learn more from Maria Paula, about Bartlett’s research treatments that will take place in June and July, and the monitoring that will continue over the next 5 years.
