Event Details

Learn copper repousse during a 3-week course with art instructor Joe Robinson that starts on October 10.

Copper repousse is an ancient art form in which artists used tools to hammer designs into metal bowls, utensils and knight’s armor. Today heavy metal tools have given way to small wooden ones and a thin-gauge copper is used to create decorative wall hangings. Chemicals can be applied to achieve attractive patinas. Our work will have a nature theme and several mounting options will be offered to complete your work and ready it for a group exhibit in the Trust’s Visitor Center. Limited to 8 students. Pre-paid registration required by October 8.  Classes will be held in the Visitor Center.

Cost: Members $25; Non-members $35. Does not include a $25 fee for materials due Joe the first day of class.

Joe Robinson is a local artist/educator who has taught in the public schools as well as private studio classes for over 30 years. He has shown and sold his work in the tri-state area. His images range from colorful wooden “STAND-UPS” to primal lino cut prints with hand painted accents. His work can be seen on Facebook at “Joe Robinson Art.”
