February 3rd- No Mow May, Thursday, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (Virtual on Zoom)
Interested in making your lawn eco-friendly? No Mow May is an effort to reduce the frequency of mowing lawns to benefit pollinators and other wildlife. By allowing lawns to grow a little longer, flowers can bloom which can benefit bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Lawns can be managed to provide a variety of ecosystem services. Inspired by the UK and Appleton, WI, who have been leading this endeavor, PERT has experimented with different mowing regimes this past growing season, and now we’re ready to share what we’ve learned with you! This presentation will cover how to let your lawn grow out in an aesthetically pleasing way, how to inform your neighbors of its purpose, and more! Online registration required by February 2nd to receive the Zoom link.
