May 17th – Tour of Cathedral Meadows, Sunday, 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
In 2010, the Trust added 30 acres of land in Bryn Athyn to its patchwork of protected landscape. Known as Cathedral Meadows, the area contains a shallow pond, and a section of Cairn Run, an important stream that flows into the Pennypack Creek. With its agricultural legacy and some unique invasive plant pressure, the site is a prime example of the land management challenges that stewards face at the Trust and in our region. Accompany Pennypack Trust Stewardship staff to learn about our restoration progress in this area, which is only accessible via guided tours. This walking tour takes about two and a half hours and consists of rough trails and hills. Limited to 20 participants. Pennypack Trust Members Only. Pre-registration required. $5 Per Person.
