Train Crash Walk- SOLD OUT

Sunday, December 5th, 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM

On December 5, 1921, a head-on train collision near the Creek Road Bridge killed 27 passengers and crew members and injured 70 others.  Learn more about this catastrophe on the 100-year anniversary that led the Interstate Commerce Commission to recommend major changes in passenger railcar construction during a 45-minute presentation in the Church Hall at The Lord’s New Church. Then take a 2-mile hike guided to the crash site and back led by David Rowland.  Hike includes a stretch of Montgomery County’s new flat and level Pennypack Trail.  Co-sponsored by Old York Road Historical Society. Pre-registration required. Pennypack Trust and Old York Road Historical Society Members free; non-members $10. This program is at The Lord’s New Church (1725 Huntingdon Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006).
