Winter is nearing and we need your help! We continue to see elevated levels of salt/chlorides in our watersheds, and Salt Watch is a huge part of gathering ongoing information about the state of our watersheds and how they are impacted by human activity. Every year during the winter our communities apply road salt on sidewalks, parking lots, and roadways to stay safe. As snow thaws and ice melts, excessive salt washes into our waterways and can even end up in our drinking water! So join us for the launch of 2023 – 2024 Salt Watch season! The Izaak Walton League of America, who organizes Salt Watch nationwide, will be joining us. Learn how to participate in Salt Watch and why it’s important to our waterways! For those who have joined our launch in the past, there are updates in the process for submitting data that we will be sharing too.
